Introducing the best of the best from the 2025-26 campaign
Sophie Whitehouse (Charlton Athletic)
The Irish international stamped her authority on the WSL2 campaign as she claimed the Golden Glove award for Charlton Athletic. Featuring in all 22 games for the Addicks this season, Whitehouse recorded eight clean sheets, topping the charts. The 29 year old boasts an incredible 70.8% save rate, having made 51 saves all season whilst only conceding 21 goals as Charlton finished in third place, securing them a play-off spot. Her stats and performances earned her an international call-up with Ireland in April.
Aimee Everett (Crystal Palace)
A centre-back by trade, Everett has played a crucial role in Crystal Palace's promotion back to BWSL at the first time of asking. Featuring in 18 of 22 matches, she scored once and assisted once too; her goal coming in a crucial win over Nottingham Forest in March. Her contributions to Palace’s season earned her the Player’s Player of the Season award. As well as this, her form in March earned her the Barclays BWSL2 player of the month award.
Neve Herron (Birmingham City)
Playing in 21 matches this season, Herron’s contribution to the Blues’ title win cannot be overlooked. With 156 defensive contributions across the entire season, it’s clear to see she rose to the task when called upon. She’s no stranger to setting up team moves too, with a solid 824 successful passes across the season and an accuracy of 80.1%; her passing has been one of her strongest attributes this season as Birmingham finished in top spot on goal difference, securing their status in BWSL next season.
Chloe Mustaki (Nottingham Forest)
The Irish international made a statement to the league in Nottingham Forest’s third time in the second tier. Featuring at centre-back in 20 matches this season, she was solid in Forest’s back line, but has also impressed by grabbing assists on three separate occasions. Joining the club in the summer of 2025, she’s made a huge impression at the City Ground, helping Forest to a seventh--place finish. Chloe is one to look out for next season as Forest continues to build.
Emily Syme (Bristol City)
A combined 13 goals and assists from Emily Syme saw the 25 year old quickly become one of the talents to watch for in the division. With two assists on the final day, it’s clear to see why she is one of the top attackers in the league. Her impressive form this season has seen her nominated for numerous accolades, including the BWSL Player of the Year after being named Bristol City’s Player of the Year.
Beth Hepple (Durham)
Playing primarily as a defensive midfielder this season, it hasn’t stopped Hepple from scoring some impressive numbers for the season. With a combined 12 goals and assists to her name, she was instrumental in securing Durham’s BWSL2 status for another season. Featuring in all 22 matches, her best performance came against Sheffield United in April, where she assisted twice in a 2-1 win at Maiden Castle Sports Park in the penultimate match of the season. Rotating between three positions this season, Hepple has been able to show moments of true quality.
**Jordan Nobbs (Newcastle United)
**Nobbs joined Newcastle in the summer, following her departure from Aston Villa. She finished the season on 12 goal involvements in total, grabbing more than anyone in the Newcastle team. Boasting an impressive 730 successful passes, Nobbs has been a maestro in midfield for the Toon starting in all 20 games she played in. Southampton away was where Nobbs truly showed what she was capable of, as her first-half brace secured the Toon all three points.
Ashleigh Weerden (Crystal Palace)
Weerden’s attacking and defending attributes were perfectly showcased from left wing-back as Crystal Palace secured promotion. Following her new role deployment, the Suriname international recorded an impressive 17 goals and assists whilst featuring in all 22 matches for the Eagles. In what was her best season on record, she also broke the record for most assists in a season with ten, previously held by Kosovare Asllani (nine).
**Lily Crosthwaite (Birmingham City)
**A key figure in the Blues’ title-winning side, Crosthwaite featured in 21 matches, starting in 19 of them. Recording 14 goal involvements, she finished second in the charts, only three contributions behind Ashleigh Weerden. Her stellar performances drew widespread praise from fans and her manager alike. She went on to win Birmingham’s Players’ Player, Supporter's Player, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards. With her versatility of being able to play on the wings or upfront, Crosthwaite is sure to cause defenders problems next season.
**Veatriki Sarri (Birmingham City)
**Featuring as a left-winger this season, Sarri has been in and amongst the goals for the Blues this season. A combined nine goals and assists see her as a worthy recipient of a team of the season place. Her best moments include a wonderful free-kick against Durham, and she scored a second in the same game, propelling the Blues to a 3-0 win. This season, the Greek international featured 21 times out of a possible 22 , starting 16 times, crucially helping Birmingham to win the league.
Lexi Lloyd-Smith (Bristol City)
The Bristol City striker pocketed the Golden Boot award after the 23 year old scored eleven goals. Her most memorable came in the last game of the season, against Sheffield United in an emphatic 4-0 win at Bramall Lane. This marked her first-ever career hat trick. A testament to her incredible numbers this season, she has also been nominated for Player of the Season. Featuring in all but one game, she’s been widely praised for her attacking threat.
