WSL Football brings Apple products to the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Super League 2
WSL Football and Apple are collaborating to transform the way the game is played, coached, officiated and experienced, supporting WSL Football’s vision to create the most distinctive, competitive and entertaining club competition in the world.
WSL Football clubs and officials will benefit by embracing Apple products. The game-changing move will help players, coaches and analysts to drive better performance standards and ultimately elevate the game.
The integration is about driving forward several key opportunities such as levelling the playing field across the leagues by creating equitable access to products to enhance competition and develop the overall on-pitch experience.
This will be achieved through a comprehensive suite of products - including the latest MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPad Air, along with the new iPhone 17 Pro and AirPods Pro 3. Clubs will now have the ability to seamlessly utilise multiple iPads on the sidelines, dedicated to specific coaches and performance staff, to review high level video analysis and data from the matches and training, and in turn impact key decision making, player development and team strategy. This footage will be clipped on the latest MacBook Pro by analysts, who will also be communicating with the coaches in the dugout or at the training ground, through the newly released AirPods Pro 3 and iPhone 17 Pro.
Additionally, matchday processes will be modernised by iPad Air, through the integration of digital team sheet exchanges and match day reporting on the devices by 4th officials, increasing efficiencies across critical match day administration.
“At its core, we see this as a collaboration grounded in a shared ambition to drive meaningful transformation, and Apple has a remarkable history of revolutionising industries through its products,” says Zarah Al-Kudcy, CRO, WSL Football. “That spirit of innovation deeply resonates with our aspirations for women’s football, and Apple's products will help provide a solution for disparity in club technology access and team performance analysis. By leveraging their world-class products, we’re empowering teams with tools that can transform on-pitch performance and create a more level playing field across the leagues."
Apple has a long and storied history of transforming professional sports through its products such as Major League Baseball, National Hockey League and World Surf League, and the same innovation and forward-thinking will be applied to women’s football, aligning to WSL Football’s mission to transform the league and raise standards across the game as a whole.
“We are thrilled to be working with WSL Football and to help every player, coach, analyst and official elevate their game with Apple,” says Scott Brodrick, Worldwide Product Marketing Manager at Apple. “Our aim is to enable innovation both on and off the pitch, and by placing our products into the hands of football’s most skilful athletes, we’re excited by what we can collectively achieve for women’s football.”
