Newcastle: Leg 1's value goldmine
Torpey, Thomas and Tamminen all made the top five, and Newcastle had five players in the top 20 overall, with Aoife Mannion and Jemma Purfield also featuring.
Torpey was the standout. At £4.0m, the cheapest price band in the table, she outscored every defender bar Ellie Carpenter.
Premiums that still paid their way
Value isn't only about budget picks. Lauren Hemp (£8.0m, 52 points) and Carpenter (£7.0m, 48 points) both made the top 20 for points per £m despite their higher prices.
What it means for Leg 2
A couple of £4.0m to £5.0m picks who start every week, like Torpey or Thomas, free up budget for the premium players who make the biggest difference.
