Captaincy rule clarification

We have found a mistake in our published rules and we are correcting the wording because the initial description about changing your captain does not match how the game actually works.

Our rules said you could not change your captain once she had played. That is not right. You can, and the game has always allowed it.

It is our error and we apologise for the confusion. This is the first season of the game and we would rather correct things openly as we find them.

Nothing in the game is changing and nobody has lost points. The game has worked this way since launch.

It was our description that was wrong and that is what we have corrected.

The rule as it is intended gives you more control, so if anything some of you have been holding off from something you were always free to do.

The correction is set out in full below. We have updated the rules page, the help sections and the in-game copy to match.

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch with questions this week.

The Correction

What our rules said:

Between match days you cannot change your captain once she has played.

What the rule actually is:

Between match days you can change your captain even if she has already played, once that match day's points are finalised.

You cannot give the captaincy to a player who has already played.

Only your final captain scores double. If you take the armband off a player, she keeps her own points but loses the double.

Changing your captain counts as a manual change, so it turns off automatic substitutions for the rest of that matchweek.
