A new weekend brings another chance for fantasy managers to find those players capable of making the difference.
The Barclays Women’s Super League is already underway, with the expanded 14-team division providing plenty of new storylines, new faces and, importantly, new fantasy options to consider.
After the opening round of fixtures gave us our first glimpse at which players could make an impact this season, fantasy managers now have plenty of information to work with heading into the next round.
From an England international making an impressive return to the BWSL to defenders putting up huge numbers and forwards already showing their attacking potential, there are plenty of players worth keeping on your radar.
Meanwhile, Barclays Women’s Super League 2 (BWSL2) has also got underway, with another promotion battle beginning to take shape.
With another weekend of action ahead, here are five players to keep an eye on and potential picks to consider for your Fantasy team.
The All-Rounder — Georgia Stanway, Arsenal
Georgia Stanway's return to the BWSL couldn't have got off to a much more encouraging start.
The Arsenal midfielder was a bright spark on her league debut for the Gunners, producing an all-round performance that showed just how much she can offer in the middle of the pitch.
Stanway completed 86% of her passes, while creating two chances, including one big chance, as Arsenal began their campaign with a win.
Her influence wasn't limited to what she could do with the ball either.
The England international made two tackles, four clearances and 11 recoveries, while winning 100% of her aerial duels.
That ability to contribute across multiple areas of the game makes Stanway an intriguing fantasy option. Rather than relying solely on goals and assists, she has the potential to build a strong statistical return through her passing, chance creation, defensive work and ball recoveries.
After making such a positive first impression, Stanway is certainly one to watch as Arsenal's season develops.
The Dribbling Dynamo — Viviane Asseyi, West Ham
Viviane Asseyi has already given fantasy managers plenty of reason to keep an eye on her.
After scoring for West Ham last week, the forward followed up with another performance that highlighted her attacking qualities and ability to cause problems for defenders.
Asseyi completed the most dribbles in the game, while recording 50% successful dribbles, underlining her willingness to take players on and create opportunities for herself.
Her passing was also impressive, with the West Ham forward completing 93% of her passes.
And when she did get an opportunity to shoot, she was clinical, recording 100% shot accuracy.
Asseyi also contributed defensively with two tackles, two interceptions and three recoveries, showing the work rate she can offer away from the ball.
With a goal already under her belt and her ability to create danger through her dribbling, Asseyi could be an interesting fantasy option to monitor as West Ham's campaign continues.
The Fortress — Andrea Medina, Manchester United
If you're looking for a potential fantasy differential in defence, Andrea Medina could be one to keep on your radar.
The Manchester United defender produced one of the standout defensive performances of the opening round, recording 23 defensive contributions against London City Lionesses, the most in the game.
Her numbers make for impressive reading.
Medina made eight tackles, 11 clearances and four interceptions, while also recording two recoveries.
She won 71% of her ground duels, demonstrating her effectiveness in one-on-one situations, while her 90% passing accuracy showed that she was equally composed when United had possession.
For fantasy managers, defensive statistics can often be overlooked when the focus is naturally placed on goals and assists. But a player capable of consistently producing tackles, clearances, interceptions and recoveries can offer another route to fantasy points.
Medina's opening performance certainly suggests she could be one of those players worth watching closely.
The Double Threat — Ellie Brazil, Southampton
BWSL2 has already produced some eye-catching fantasy performances, and Ellie Brazil was one of the biggest standouts from the opening weekend.
The Southampton forward played a starring role in her side's 3-1 victory over Durham, contributing one goal and one assist.
But her attacking influence went much further than her direct goal contributions.
Brazil created four chances, the most in the game, while also recording seven touches inside the opposition box, again the highest figure in the match.
That combination makes her particularly interesting from a fantasy perspective. She isn't simply waiting for chances to fall her way; she's actively creating opportunities while consistently getting herself into dangerous areas.
Brazil also showed her willingness to contribute defensively, winning 66.7% of her aerial duels while making five tackles and five recoveries.
A goal, an assist and four chances created is a very encouraging start, and Brazil could be one of the BWSL2 players worth keeping firmly on your fantasy radar.
The Ball Hunter — Asmita Ale, Leicester City
Asmita Ale may not have found the back of the net on the opening weekend, but her performance for Leicester City highlighted another way a player can make an impact.
Ale was a bright spark for Leicester in their victory over Sheffield United, completing 81% of her passes and 60% of her long balls.
However, it was her defensive contribution that really stood out.
The Leicester player made six tackles and six recoveries, helping her side regain possession and maintain control during their opening-day victory.
For fantasy managers, those numbers make Ale an interesting differential. While attacking players naturally attract the most attention, defensive contributors can quietly build up valuable numbers across a match.
If Ale can maintain that level of defensive involvement, she could become an increasingly interesting option as the BWSL2 season progresses.
Who makes your fantasy team?
The opening weekend has already given fantasy managers plenty to think about, and these five players offer something different.
Stanway brings an all-round midfield presence, Asseyi provides dribbling and attacking threat, Medina offers a huge defensive output, Brazil combines goals and creativity, while Ale could provide a useful defensive differential.
