At just £5.5m, there is plenty of reason to believe she could offer excellent value. Cascarino arrived in London with an impressive pedigree, having won nine league titles and six Women’s Champions League trophies with OL Lyonnes. Now, with London City travelling to face West Ham in Gameweek 2, Cascarino looks like an appealing option for managers searching for a low-owned player with a high ceiling. At just three percent ownership, another strong attacking return could see her make a significant difference to Fantasy rankings.
Atalanta Primus - 1% owned - £8 million
Atlanta Primus is a premium option at £8 million, which could be why the Sunderland midfielder is owned by just 1% of Fantasy managers. But her reliability and technicality on the ball makes her a great differential pick for managers seeking players with consistent game time to rack up points. Her ability to operate as a box-to-box midfielder and push forward towards goal gives her multiple routes to gaining fantasy points.
Sunderland’s next fixture, against BWSL2 debutants Burnley, will provide Primus with the opportunity to dominate on the ball and potentially open her account to score her first goal for Sunderland after providing an assist last week.
Beth Lumsden - 1% owned - £7.5 million
Beth Lumsden is arguably one of the most eye-catching differentials heading into Week 2, having already delivered a 10-point haul in the opening gameweek despite being owned by just 1% of Fantasy managers.
The Newcastle forward was directly involved in her side's attacking play throughout the opening weekend, and got on the scoresheet against Wolves in just eight minutes, showcasing the kind of creativity and attacking threat that makes her an appealing Fantasy option. At £7.5m, her price makes her an accessible option for managers looking for a forward outside the more popular picks. Given her 10-point return in Week 1, her one percent ownership could make Lumsden a particularly valuable differential if she can maintain that form.
Anna Tamminen - 2% owned - £5 million
If you're looking for a cheaper way into one of the BWSL2's most ambitious sides, Anna Tamminen could be the answer.
The Newcastle goalkeeper is owned by just two percent of Fantasy managers but offers plenty of potential at just £5m. Tamminen started all 14 of her league appearances after joining the Magpies midway through last season, keeping four clean sheets in the process. She also saved a penalty on her Newcastle debut in the Tyne-Wear derby, highlighting her ability to rack up points beyond simply keeping goals out.
Newcastle’s next fixture, against an experienced Bristol City side, provides Tamminen the opportunity to make key saves and add to her defensive contributions that provided her with extra points last week. Only Watford’s Saffia Middleton-Patel scored more points than Tamminen last week, but at just 2% selection, she offers a great opportunity to be the difference-maker for any Fantasy Manager.
Laura Blindkilde Brown - 2% owned - £6 million
Laura Blindkilde Brown could be one of the more intriguing midfield differentials heading into Gameweek 2, particularly for managers looking for a way into Manchester City's attack without spending big on their premium options.
The 22-year-old was one of the standout young players in the BWSL last season and appears to have carried that momentum into the new campaign. Blindkilde Brown started City's 3-1 victory over Birmingham City on the opening weekend, playing 73 minutes in midfield, and created an opportunity for Mary Fowler’s opening goal. At £6m, Blindkilde Brown offers a relatively inexpensive route into the reigning champions and, if her ownership remains below three percent, could be a particularly interesting differential for managers willing to back her to take another step forward this season.
