With another weekend of shock results across BWSL and BWSL2, we give our recommendations for which Fantasy players should be in contention for your armband in Gameweek 3.
1 - Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw
At Liverpool | £12.5m
Our first pick comes at no surprise to players, with Shaw the most expensive attacker in the game who certainly rewards those users who give her the armband.
The Jamaican scored and gained an assist against Aston Villa last weekend landing her 13 points and the most points in the league so far with 27 points.
While her price tag does turn some players away, she secured the most amount of points by any player last season (199). She has earned her place in most players' teams, with 62% of fantasy participants including her in their squad.
City host Liverpool on Friday evening, with the defending Champions having won their last eight games against the Reds. As the only team to have won their first two matches, City will be hoping for another three points, with Shaw likely to play a huge part in achieving it.
2 - Katy Watson
At Southampton | £6.5m
A second clear pick from us is Katy Watson from Sunderland, who currently ranks second for the most points achieved with 25 points. While she is only owned by 4% of managers, who may be overlooking the BWSL2, Watson only costs £6.5m making her a reasonably priced midfielder.
The forward started every one of Sunderland’s games in the 2025/26 season and hit the ground running this season, scoring twice and landing an assist in their opening game against Bristol City which landed her 20 points.
Looking ahead, Watson could have another successful weekend as the Black Cats host Southampton in a game that is likely to be tight with high pressure as both teams look to compete for promotion this season.
3 - Ellie Carpenter
At Birmingham City | £7m
After Chelsea’s disappointing first game of the season they made a statement comeback in their 5-0 victory over Manchester United. Carpenter was a big part of this, scoring the fourth goal and assisting the Chelsea back line in keeping their clean sheet.Her performance earned her 16 points taking her total so far in the season to 23. The 26-year-old’s potential for points is widely recognised, as she features in 21% of teams.
Chelsea will host newly promoted Birmingham City, who have recorded one loss and one draw so far in their return to the BWSL. While the newly promoted teams are not to be overlooked, Chelsea could continue their momentum into the weekend against a lesser established side and achieve another high goal scoring record.
Carpenter is likely to play a huge role in the game, as her defensive and attacking contributions play a huge part in Sonia Bompastor’s system.
4 - Pauline Peyraud-Magnin
Vs Tottenham | £4.5m
Here is our more rouge option of the week, choosing Crystal Palace’s goalkeeper as a potentially out there choice for captain since she is only selected by 1% of players.
Palace have exceeded expectations in their first two return games in the BWSL, with two clean sheets in their victory over Everton and an incredible draw to Arsenal. Peyraud-Magnin was a huge part of both games, after only being brought in on loan a few months earlier to take the place of Shae Yanez against tough competition.
She made 8 saves at the Emirates to keep Arsenal’s attack at bay, earning her 11 points and the most for BWSL goalkeepers. The 34-year-old only costs £4.5m which is a perfect budget option for players.
The Eagles host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 20 at Selhurst Park, which will be another tough game for Palace based on Spurs recent form, although if Jo Potter could replicate the defensive minded game plan from Arsenal on home turf we could see Palace land another huge result.
5 - Rachel McLauchlan
Vs Sheffield United | £5m
Our second choice from the BWSL2, and our second defender, might be a hear me out kind of pick. McLauchlan has earned 17 points so far, but holds a huge amount of potential which is yet to be recognised by fantasy players as she is only selected by 1%.
Newcastle’s defence and start to the season has been strong, with two victories and two clean sheets. They host newly promoted Sheffiled United who are yet to secure a point in the league and have only scored one goal.
This match could see the potential for a strong Newcastle victory with their third clean sheet also on the cards, which would see McLauchlan rewarded strongly for the clean sheet and her defensive contributions.Even if you don’t want to take the gamble this week, Newcastle enter a strong run of fixtures next hosting Lecister and then travelling to Durham, so McLauchlan could be one to monitor for the future.
Who gets my pick?
Shaw gets it for me.
Yes it might be a boring pick, but her returns are just so secure and in this game taking a gamble does not always pay off especially when your competitors will have Shaw captained.
As my second choice Watson is almost as secure, and is certainly a good option for those players keeping more of an eye on the BWSL2. As remember, with Bunny playing on Friday night, you will have the decision to stick or twist.
