The moves that paid off
Carpenter and Hemp were the transfers that delivered. Both were among the four most-bought players, and both finished in Leg 1's top three scorers.
Carpenter's ownership climbed from 18.21% in Gameweek 1 to 31.13% by Gameweek 5, the second-biggest rise of the leg.
The one the crowd missed
Endemann was the most popular buy by some distance. Her ownership rose from 2.15% to 16.77%, the biggest jump of any player, and she scored 29 points across the leg.
Meanwhile, Leg 1's top scorer, Océane Hurtré, was transferred in just 2,414 times, fewer than half as many as Endemann, despite her 53 points.
What it means for Leg 2
Following the market isn't always a bad idea, as Carpenter and Hemp proved. But the biggest gains came from spotting form before everyone else did.
