WSL Football is launching an official fantasy football game for the start of next season and fans are invited to join the development process.

Launching in August, the brand-new fantasy football experience is built specifically around the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Super League 2 and is currently in the development phase.

As two of the most exciting leagues in world football, the official fantasy game exists so people can experience them in more ways with fans able to choose players from across both leagues when building their team. Fantasy football provides an accessible route for fans to connect with the women’s game and turns passive watching into something active, strategic, and personal. It gives fans a reason to follow every match, discover players across every club, and feel genuinely invested in the season.

When building the WSL Football App, fans were asked what they wanted and many requested an official WSL Football fantasy game. To ensure the game is the best it can be, ahead of the launch, fans can contribute to the development of the game and influence the structure, design and overall experience.

From seasoned fantasy football players to those who are interested in it as a concept, the feedback will directly influence real decisions about the game on key features including scoring systems, squad selection, transfer mechanics and what would make it worth playing all season long.
