The best of the best, here’s who made the EA Sports BWSL team of the season
**Hannah Hampton
**It’s been another memorable campaign for the Lioness. Facing just over 68 shots and conceding only 17, she has the second highest save percentage of goalkeepers in the league at 74.2%. Further to this, she boasts an incredible 639 successful passes, an average of 38 per 90 minutes. She also featured in the Subway Women’s League Cup final, keeping a clean sheet against Manchester United, and helping Chelsea secure the trophy.
**Katie McCabe
**The departing McCabe has been a shining light for Arsenal, featuring in 20 matches this season. The Ireland international poses both an attacking and defending threat and has played an impressive 1430 minutes across the entire season so far. She’s been an instrumental figure as Arsenal ended the second half of the season strongly. With a wicked long shot, her solitary goal came against Everton in a 3-1 win at Goodison Park back in December. She also added two assists.
**Kerstin Casparij
**Casparij has been another crucial cog in the Citizens’ title-winning season, adapting to more of a wing-back role as opposed to her normal defensive role. Like Shaw, she’s featured in all of City’s games this season. Her new role has allowed her to flourish, scoring three goals – including a wonderful goal in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford– and assisting seven. Crediting her manager for her performances, Casparij states: “We get so much freedom and also trust and responsibility".
Maya Le Tissier
Starting every game this season and leading the Red Devils as captain, the United skipper has made an impressive mark. Third this season for the number of minutes played, Le Tissier has been consistent and reliable, and was voted United’s Player of the Month for March. Her defensive dependability was encapsulated by a last-ditch tackle to deny Alyssa Thompson in the Subway League Cup final. She can also impact the field at the other end, and she recorded one goal and two assists at.
**Toko Koga
**Koga joined Spurs in July 2025, and the young centre back has made a significant impact on Martin Ho’s side, her name now one of the first on the team sheet. With an impressive 137 defensive contributions, her teammate Clare Hunt said: “it’s great to have a partner in her”. Indeed, Spurs have had one of their best seasons on record as they sit fifth in the league standings. Scored a goal and added an assist to her name this season too.
**Jess Park
**After joining the Red Devils on deadline day in the summer, it’s fair to say that Park has excelled. In 21 games she has started 19 and recorded an impressive eleven goals and assists combined. This season, she has been described as an “all-round attacking gem” and swept up all accolades available to her in her first month with Manchester United. A winger with a keen eye for goal, almost half of her goals this season have come from range, a testament to an incredible debut season.
**Yui Hasegawa
**Hasegawa has had a season to remember. Winning the BWSL, and winning the Asian Cup, she has been a standout performer for club and country. Featuring 19 times this season, she has made a real impact in Jeglertz’ side. Described as a “midfield magician”, the midfielder has recorded four goals and assists in the BWSL in 2025-26. Yet it’s her passing that’s been so easy on the eye to fans, with 900 successful passes this season, and boasting an incredible 86.7% accuracy; her contribution to attacking and defending has been sensational.
**Mariona Caldentey
**It’s been another impressive campaign for the 2024-25 BWSL Player of the Year. This season, she has been an instrumental force in the Arsenal midfield. Featuring in 18 matches so far, she’s racked up six goals and assists across the campaign. Her best performance of the season? A midfield masterclass against Manchester City, setting up Olivia Smith to propel Arsenal into the UWCL places, and sparking an incredible second half of the season for the Gunners.
**Alyssa Thompson
**A force to be reckoned with. Predominantly playing as a left winger, the young US international has contributed a combined ten goals and assists this season. Of those, she has scored several crucial goals, and Bompastor has been thrilled with her development this season: “I’m glad she plays for Chelsea...You can see how much talent she has and the quality she brings to the team... I think she’s improving game after game.”
**Vivianne Miedema
**Sitting in fourth place in the goalscoring charts, Miedema has made an impressive impact on Manchester City’s title win. Playing in an attacking-midfield role this season, she has become a vital part of the side. Scoring ten goals and assisting five, she has been one of the league’s best forwards, putting her injury woes behind her. Like her teammates, she also boasts an incredible record when it comes to passing, with 378 successful passes this season and an accuracy of 80.9%. With 66 shots taken and 25 of those on target, she remains as deadly as ever.
**Khadija Shaw
**Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has featured in every Manchester City fixture this season, and has been unstoppable. She significantly improved her goal contributions after last season, leading the Citizens to their first BWSL title since 2016. Shaw has scored an impressive 19 goals whilst assisting four. Across the season, she has broken several records including scoring the fastest BWSL hattrick, against Tottenham Hotspur inside 21 minutes, in a 5-2 win. A true catalyst of Jeglertz’s title-winning side, Shaw has excelled in this City side and picked up the golden boot to match.
