Barclays Women's Super League March Player, Manager and Goal of the Month Award Winners announced

The winners of the Barclays Women’s Super League’s monthly awards for March have now been confirmed.
Voted for by a combination of the public and a panel of industry experts, the successful individuals for the third month of the calendar year are as follows.
Firstly, Player of the Month has been awarded to Arsenal’s Alessia Russo after an impressive March for the Gunners.
The striker scored her first hat-trick for Arsenal in their 5-2 North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur, alongside a goal in a 5-0 victory against West Ham United and an assist in a 2-0 success against London City Lionesses.
Russo scooped the award ahead of teammate Lotte Wubben-Moy, Manchester City duo Kerstin Casparij and Bunny Shaw, Aston Villa pair Kirsty Hanson and Lynn Wilms, and Liverpool’s Ceri Holland.
West Ham United’s Oona Siren meanwhile secured the Goal of the Month accolade for her volley against London City Lionesses in a 1-1 draw last month.
Strikes from Chloe Kelly and Beth Mead (v West Ham), Anna Patten (v Leicester City), Ceri Holland (v Everton), Caitlin Foord (v Spurs), Lauren James and Sjoeke Nusken (v Aston Villa) were also in contention.
Finally, the Manager of the Month accolade is awarded to Arsenal’s Renée Slegers, making it a double-award winning month for the Gunners as three successive wins have seen them nestled in third spot in the league standings, with two games in hand on those around them.
Three previous winners of the award in Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor, Manchester City’s Andrée Jeglertz and Liverpool’s Gareth Taylor were also in the running.
