Arsenal are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Géraldine Reuteler on a permanent deal.
The 27-year-old Switzerland international joins us after leaving Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
“Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world and I'm so proud that I can be here,” said Géraldine. “I love the way this team plays and I can’t wait to test myself against the best players here in the WSL. I want to add to the history and success of this football club and I’m looking forward to walking out at the Emirates in front of all our supporters.”
Born in April 1999, Géraldine began her football journey with Swiss club FC Stans before joining FC Luzern in 2008. Geraldine made her senior debut in the Swiss top flight at the age of 15 and made a strong impact, gaining regular minutes despite her young age.
Géraldine made the switch to Germany and Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2018. In the eight years since, Géraldine has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga, known for her dynamic and athletic style. She leaves Frankfurt having made 184 appearances in all competitions, scoring 54 goals and providing 44 assists.
Géraldine made her senior Switzerland debut in 2017 and has represented her nation at the last three UEFA Women’s European Championships, helping the team to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament for the first time on home soil in 2025. In total, Géraldine has made 91 appearances and scored 17 goals for Switzerland, winning the Swiss Women’s Player of the Year award in 2024.
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Géry is an Arsenal player. Géry has been a long-term target for us and brings a strong background of experience at both club and international level. We’re looking forward to working together to strive to bring more trophies to our club.”
Head Coach Renée Slegers said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring Géry to Arsenal. She’s a really technical, intelligent player and combines this with good athleticism, which we believe makes her a great addition to our midfield group. I’m looking forward to starting to work together when pre-season begins.”
