West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of France international goalkeeper Constance Picaud.

The shot-stopper has penned a three-year contract in east London after joining from Première Ligue club Fleury.

Picaud was captain of her former side and kept 19 clean sheets in 40 appearances as she helped Fleury to achieve back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the French top division.

The former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper also has experience on the international stage, having been capped 14 times by France and featured in squads at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2024 Olympic Games and 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro.

Excited to work under Head Coach Rita Guarino, Picaud is now relishing the opportunity to play in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“It's a real honour to be joining West Ham United,” she said. “I’m proud to become part of a Club with such a rich history and values that align with my own.

“I’ve had several conversations with Rita [Guarino] and I’ve been really impressed by her mindset, her ambition and the importance she places on togetherness and team spirit within the Club.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play outside of France and, for me, the Women’s Super League is one of the best leagues in the world. I’m so excited to come to London, experience a new country and live in such an incredible city.

“It also meant a lot to me to be able to bring my family with me - that was a huge part of this decision. I’m happy wherever I am in the world as long as my wife, my daughter and my dog are by my side. Now, all four of us are about to begin an exciting new chapter at West Ham United, and I can’t wait to get started.”

The 27-year-old’s first taste of professional football came at French second-tier side La Roche-sur-Yon, where she made 62 appearances across three seasons before joining Le Havre.

In her first season, Picaud helped Les Havraises achieve promotion to the top flight for the first time in their history before going on to feature in 21 of their 22 league outings in the following campaign.

Her performances earned her a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021, where she made 31 appearances in all competitions, which included games in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and helped them to lift the Coupe de France in 2022 and 2024 before her move to Fleury.

Guarino is delighted to bolster her goalkeeping options with the signing of the experienced shot-stopper.

“I'm delighted to bring Constance to the Club,” she said. “As a goalkeeper, she has shown quality both in and out of possession, along with the composure and intelligence to control key moments in games, which will complement our playing style.

“Having captained her previous side in France, Constance has demonstrated strong leadership qualities, and her experience and mentality will be invaluable to this group moving forward.”
