  • Manchester City score three to pick up three

  • Wins for Manchester United and Brighton
Familiar face haunts Liverpool

Olivia Smith, on her first outing against her former side (since signing for Arsenal in a record-breaking deal in the summer), scored the opening goal, only to be cancelled out by the in-form Beata Olsson, who has now scored in each of her last five games (seven goals in five matches). In the end, it was the hosts who took all three points, after Stina Blackstenius’s goal in the 87th minute secured the win.

Shaw maintains City’s winning streak

Khadija Shaw scored twice to help the Citizens beat Leicester City 3-0 and put the pressure on Chelsea to keep pace. The two goals also kept Shaw as the top scorer in the WSL with eight goals in ten. For the Foxes, they remain winless in the league since September, with a home tie against London City Lionesses to come.

Holdt the hero for Spurs

All the drama came in the second half as Tottenham hosted Aston Villa, with the visitors going down to ten following Oceana Deslandes’ second yellow just after the hour mark. Despite being a player down, it was the Midlands side who took the lead through Kirsty Hanson with six minutes left on the clock. Yet Spurs hit back almost immediately through Bethany England. But there was more drama to come, as Olivia Holdt secured the winner in the 90+5th minute to keep her side firmly in the race for Europe.

Manchester United remain third, as Brighton over London City

Elisabeth Terland and Dominique Janssen scored either side of West Ham’s Shekiera Martinez’s audacious bicycle kick to give Manchester United a 2-1 win and keep them in third spot.

There was also victory for Brighton, as Kiko Seike’s goal in the sixth minute was enough to take three points from London City Lionesses and send them back to the south coast with a win.

The Toffees halt Chelsea

In the final kick-off of the weekend, Everton became the first side to beat Chelsea and end their 585-day unbeaten streak. Honoka Hayashi’s goal in the 12th minute was enough for the Toffees to claim all three points at the current champions, meaning the Blues sit six points off the lead.
