Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League 2 winning captain Christie Harrison-Murray.
The attacking midfielder has penned a one-year contract with the club option of a further 12 months, following her departure from Birmingham City earlier this summer.
After checking in at Burnley Training Centre, she said: “I’m really excited to get going.
“I’ve followed Burnley’s journey for a few years now and I think going full-time in tier three was a massive statement in itself.
“A few of my friends have played here as well, and it seems like a really exciting project that’s a good fit for me.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch again, kicking a ball, meeting my new team-mates, and connecting with them to understand what their strengths are and how I can support them.”
Harrison-Murray’s career started in her native Scotland, before taking her first steps in the English game with Arsenal in 2014.
Spells with various clubs north and south of the border followed, including a three-year period with Glasgow City in which she contributed to eight trophy wins.
After two years and 36 WSL appearances for Liverpool, Harrison-Murray joined Birmingham City in 2020 and has enjoyed a successful six years in the Midlands.
Her time in Blue finished with a club captain role as Birmingham pipped Charlton Athletic to the BWSL2 title on the final day of the 2025/26 season.
The 36-year-old has enjoyed a stellar career on the international stage too, earning 82 caps for Scotland since her senior debut in 2010.
Harrison-Murray was included in her country’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup squads and has five international goals to her name.
She now makes the permanent move to Lancashire, with pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 season just around the corner.
