Ipswich Town Women is pleased to confirm the permanent signing of Aimee Palmer.
The 25-year-old midfielder joins following the expiry of her contract at fellow Barclays Women’s Super League 2 side Southampton and signs a three-year contract.
A two-time Women’s Championship winner, Palmer also brings WSL experience into the ranks and has represented England up to Under 21 level.
Palmer started her career with Bristol City, making her senior debut as a 16-year-old. Having joined Manchester United, she helped them to the Championship title in her first campaign before a season-long loan with Sheffield United.
She returned to Bristol City for three seasons, ending her second stint in the south-west with her second Championship title.
A move to Leicester City and further WSL experience followed before Palmer linked up with Southampton in 2024.
Aimee said: “I’m really excited to be here at Ipswich.
“After a few calls with Sean [Burt] and David [Wright] listening about the plans here, the decision was a no-brainer for me.
“I have a lot of experience to add to the group having won this league twice in my career, and I now can’t wait to get to work with all my new teammates.”
Sean Burt, Town Women's Technical Director, added: "Aimee’s a fantastic signing for the club and what she’ll be bring not only on the pitch but off it will be invaluable this season.
"Aimee was a standout player in the division last term, and along with her WSL experience, speaks volumes for our ambition for the Women’s team programme as well as what our environment can offer someone of her quality."
