Competition Format

The Barclays Women's Super League 2 (WSL2) is the second tier of professional women's football in England, made up of 12 clubs. Like the WSL, teams in the WSL2 play each other twice per season, and the season also runs from September to May. The team that finishes top is promoted to the Barclays WSL, while the team at the bottom is relegated to the third tier of the English football pyramid.
