Matchweek 3 saw whopping 43 goals scored across the BWSL and BWSL2, with seven teams registering clean sheets providing valuable points for Fantasy managers who invested in defenders from those clubs.
18 of those goals and four clean sheets happened in BWSL2 and which is currently a gold mine for differentials. Just 17 players currently at 3% ownership or more, compared to 90 players in the BWSL.
For that reason, the BWSL2 dominates this week’s differentials picks but we’ve added a standout performer from Birmingham City to mix things up.
Amber Hughes: 1% owned, Cost £5m
Newly promoted Wolves have been one of the early surprises of the 2026-2027 season.
The leader of the pack has been Hughes, delivered a stellar performance during the win against Burnley on Friday night, adding a goal and assist to the goal she scored against Sheffield United the week before.
Against Burnley, Hughes was unplayable at times, scoring a clinical back post header, before showing excellent close control to set up Melisa Fillis’ deflected effort for Wolves second.
Hughes has registered seven shots in her last two games, with 57.1% on target. Her next fixtures are away to Ipswich Town and at home to Watford, who have allowed 44 and 62 shots respectively across their previous three matches.
This could present Hughes with plenty more chances to add to her points tally, and at £5m she could be an absolute steal.
Bethan Roe : 0% owned, Cost £4m
In truth, any of Ipswich Town’s starting backline could have made this list. The team may give up a good number of shots, but they have kept two clean sheets from their last three games and only Southampton managed more than one expected goals (xG) against them.
Roe is a flying fullback, who started out as a striker, and she showed she hasn’t lost some those attacking instincts by scoring the winning goal against Leicester last weekend.
She covers a lot of ground for Town and loves to get up and down the flanks.
Goalkeeper Lysianne Proulx and defenders Kenzie Weir and Georgia Hunter are ever-present for the Tractor Girls defence and have also notched bonus points in their opening games.
Town defenders offer not just differential points, but value for money, with only Weir costing above £4.5m.
Océane Hurtré: 1% owned, £6m
Despite being the joint sixth top scoring midfielder in the game, Fantasy managers are still sleeping on Océane Hurtré, perhaps put off by Birmingham’s away trip to Chelsea last week.
Despite not adding to her three goal contributions against The Blues, Hurtré was again one of City’s biggest attacking threats, testing Hannah Hampton from range and delivering some dangerous crosses that stretch Chelsea’s defence.
Birmingham’s have put up good attacking numbers in two of their three games so far this season, despite playing very strong opposition.
With favourable fixtures against Everton and Crystal Palace up next, Hurtré has the potential for significant returns in the coming weeks.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah: 2% owned, £8m
While her price may seem a bit steep for some Fantasy managers, Boye-Hlorkah is already proving to be a consistent source of points this season, with a goal in each of her last two games.
The Ghana international ranks second in the league for expected goals (xG) with 1.72 and, as she showed against Durham, can score from all areas of the pitch.
Nottingham Forest rank first in the league for shots on target, averaging 6.4 per game, and are joint-first for big chances missed (six). The early signs suggest there will be plenty more opportunities for Boye-Hlorkah to add to her tally this season.
Milly Mott: 0% owned, £4.5m
Last season, Southampton ranked third for clean sheets in the BWSL2 with six and are already a third of the way to matching that total this season.
Buying into their defence could be a smart long-term move for managers. While 5% of managers have gone for Megan Collet in their team, Mott provides a cheaper option at £1m less, while still offering strong points potential.
Mott has three points defensive action points so far this season and has been ever-present in a Saints side that has conceded just one goal in their opening three matches.
Her ability to play across the backline means she is likely to get plenty of game time and provides a safe pick for those managers who are wary of players not getting minutes.
