Liverpool secure rising German talent as they look to sharpen their attacking edge

Liverpool women are getting ready for an early transfer welcome for Wolfsburg’s young superstar Vivien Endemann. Last Friday, the 24 year old announced her move to Liverpool, officially joining The Reds on 1 July 1.

The rise of Endemann has been a joy to watch since her move from German team SGS Essen to VfL Wolfsburg in 2023. She moved to Wolfsberg with the expectation of developing into a top-level forward within one of Europe’s most demanding football leagues.

Surrounded by elite players and competition, Endemann thrived under the pressure as she contributed six goals and two assists for Wolfsberg in the 2024-25 season.

This season has been no different, with Endemann netting five goals and adding four assists across all competitions for Wolfsburg, further underlining her ability to be a consistent performer and attacking threat even when not playing a full 90 minutes regularly.

A clinical edge

In addition to her impressive performances in the Bundesliga, Endemann has also excelled in the Champions League.

Boasting an 80% passing accuracy, an expected assists value of 1.4, as well as two goals and one assist, she is undoubtedly a significant attacking asset who can boost Liverpool’s offensive performance.

This level of efficiency and consistency is particularly valuable for a Liverpool side that has struggled to convert chances into goals. While the team has shown levels of creativity, they have lacked a clinical edge in front of goal, making Endemann’s arrival necessary for the club.

Her high conversion rates, combined with intelligent movement and confidence on the ball, could provide Liverpool with a new dimension in attack.

Versatile

Additionally, Endemann’s time in a top-flight European club has left her with both tactical awareness and composure, which will allow her to adapt to the physical and fast-paced nature of the English league. Although the transition may pose some difficulties, her progress at Wolfsburg indicates that she is likely to adapt quickly and make a strong impression right away.

What makes Endemann especially exciting as a player is her versatility in attack. Throughout her career, she has played as a central striker, a second forward and a right winger allowing managers to use her in multiple tactical setups.

Her flexibility will be a major asset for Gareth Taylor, giving them the opportunity for more varied attacks and unpredictability in the final third. Endemann’s willingness to make runs behind defences, put in crosses and exploit space will significantly help Liverpool when competing in the BWSL.

As well as her flexibility, Endemann is known for her efficiency in front of goal rather than high volume. She regularly converts a strong percentage of her chances, making her especially dangerous in tight games where opportunities may be limited.

Endemann’s strengths lie in her versatility, creativity and intelligence on the ball makes her an efficient attacking threat as well as a nightmare for rival defences.

For club and country

Although Endemann’s club record is incredible, she also shines on the international stage.

Since her international debut within Germany Women’s national football team in 2024, she has earned 18 caps and scored four goals.

More recently, she has been particularly impressive in fixtures throughout 2026, scoring in World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Norway, as well as contributing creatively in attacking phases through dangerous crosses into the box.

In a 5-0 victory against Slovenia, Endemann scored and assisted, highlighting her ability to influence games at the highest level.

In 2026, she has already scored three international goals, showcasing her rapid improvement in output and confidence in the final third.

These performances demonstrate her offensive prowess and fluidity on the ball, but also her ability to adapt to different tactical systems and perform under pressure, qualities that Liverpool will hope she can carry into the Barclays Women’s Super league.

Although more impressive than Endemann’s statistics is her mentality, which has underpinned her steady rise through the game. Her time at Wolfsburg required resilience, patience and a willingness to learn, all of which she has demonstrated consistently.

Her determination to break into the Wolfsburg team alongside her footballing ability highlights a player with both ambition and maturity.

As she prepares for her move to Liverpool, it is her drive and fearlessness that will define her success and allow her to thrive in a new league and high-pressure environment.

Overall, for Liverpool, the signing represents hope for greater attacking consistency, but for Endemann, it is another step towards becoming a truly elite forward in the BWSL.
