Birmingham City Women are delighted to announce the signing of England international defender Millie Turner from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old joins Blues after eight years at Manchester United, where she established herself as one of the Barclays Women's Super League's most dependable defenders. Turner helped United secure promotion to the top flight in the club's inaugural season before going on to make 133 appearances, scoring nine goals and serving as captain during spells across her time at the club.
Turner came through Manchester United's Centre of Excellence before joining Everton in 2013, progressing from the development squad into the first team. Following four years on Merseyside and a season as Bristol City captain in 2017/18, she returned to Manchester United ahead of the club's inaugural campaign.
Her performances at club level earned senior England recognition, having previously represented the Young Lionesses at Under-19 and Under-23 level. Turner made her senior debut in February 2024, coming off the bench in England's 5-1 victory over Italy, and has since been capped twice by the Lionesses.
Turner said: "This is where I want to be. The way that the girls fight for each other and play for each other, it's something that I really want to be part of.
"It's an exciting project and I think there's no ceiling to what we can achieve here."
Head Coach Amy Merricks said: “We're pleased to welcome Millie to the club. She's someone who brings a lot of experience and quality at the highest level, but just as importantly she's a brilliant character and a real leader.
“We know the standards she'll set every day will have a really positive impact on this group."
