Arsenal are delighted to announce the signing of German international striker Selina Cerci on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old forward joins us from Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where she scored 34 goals in 47 appearances.
“I'm very excited to be here – it's a big honour to play for Arsenal and I can't wait to start,” said Selina. “This is an opportunity to compete against and play alongside top players in one of the best leagues in the world. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and walking out at Emirates Stadium in front of all our supporters.”
Born in Kiel in May 2000, Selina developed with Holstein Kiel and Magdeburger FFC in Germany before signing for Bayern Munich in 2017. She played in every league game for Bayern’s second team in the 2017/18 season, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 22 appearances.
A move to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen followed in the summer of 2018, with Selina scoring 19 goals in 29 appearances across two seasons with the club, before spells with Turbine Potsdam and FC Koln.
Selina made the move to Hoffenheim in July 2024, scoring 16 league goals in her first campaign to become the Bundesliga’s joint top scorer. The striker continued her rich goalscoring form in the 2025/26 season, scoring another 16 league goals and supplying nine assists – the highest goal contribution return of any player in the league.
Selina received her first call-up for the German national team in February 2022, making her senior debut against Spain in the same month. She has made 20 appearances and scored five goals for Germany, and was part of the Germany squad that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s European Championship in 2025.
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of Selina. She’s an instinctive goalscorer with a proven record in the Bundesliga, and we believe she’s in a strong position to transition to English football and Arsenal. We welcome her and her family to the club.”
Head Coach Renée Slegers said: “I’m so pleased that Selina will be joining our group. She has impressive goalscoring numbers and brings good presence, physicality and forward intent. Combined with her strong work ethic, we feel these qualities make her a great addition to our squad.”
Selina will wear the number 29 jersey here at Arsenal.
