West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of France international forward Kelly Gago from fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Everton.

The 27-year-old has penned a three-year contract with the Hammers to become Head Coach Rita Guarino’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window.

A pacey striker with a powerful presence, Gago arrives in east London after starring for the Toffees in the WSL, having notched ten goals in 30 appearances in all competitions, and is hoping to continue her fine form with the Hammers.

“I’m very happy to be joining West Ham United,” said Gago, who will wear the No11 shirt.

“The family-feel of the Club really appealed to me, and I’m excited to join that family.

“I’m going to give everything in order to help the team reach our ambitions, and I’m really looking forward to getting started in Claret and Blue.”

Gago’s career began in her native France as she plied her trade with VGA Saint-Maur, Dijon and AS Saint-Étienne. She spent six seasons at the latter, netting 44 times in 91 appearances and helping them achieve promotion to the top flight in 2020/21.

Following a spell with Italian side UC Sampdoria, Gago’s scoring form continued with Parma, as she bagged 15 goals in 30 appearances, before moving to Nantes in the summer of 2024.

It was then in January 2025 that she made the move to the WSL and Gago made a lightning start to life in England, registering five goals and two assists in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. Last term, Gago notched four times from six starts, as she continued to prove a nuisance to WSL defenders.

On the international stage, Gago has been capped 14 times by her country, scoring three goals, and represented France at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 last summer.

Guarino is delighted to bolster her attacking options with Gago’s addition, as she said:

“I’m really pleased to bring Kelly to West Ham United.

“She is somebody that I saw when she was playing in Italy many years ago, and I have kept an eye on her progress since then.

“Kelly is a forward with pace, power and an eye for goal. She will complement our existing attacking options and bring valuable experience to our squad.”

Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Kelly to the Club and wish her every success in Claret and Blue.
