Nottingham Forest Women is delighted to announce the signing of Leticia McKenna, who has signed a two-year deal.
McKenna joins from Melbourne City having spent the past five seasons with the A- League side.
The 24-year-old had a standout year in the 2025/26 season, playing a key role in the Melbourne side that won the domestic double - securing a third consecutive A-League Premiership before going on to lift the Championship trophy for the first time since 2020.
Nominated for the Young Women’s Footballer of the Year, the midfielder also received a call up to the Matildas, scoring on her debut for the national team in
April 2026. On her second appearance for Australia, in June, McKenna shared the pitch with her new club teammate Alana Murphy, having frequently played together in the national youth teams. McKenna was part of the U23 squad that won the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship, scoring in both the group stage and the semi-final in Vietnam.
A versatile midfielder, McKenna made her first senior appearance at the age of just 16 and helped Perth Glory reach the Grand Final in the Australian topflight. After a brief stint with Brisbane Roar, McKenna joined Melbourne City ahead of the 2021/22 season and has flourished during her time in the Victorian capital.A fine season in 2025/26 culminated in McKenna scoring a long-range goal in the 3-1 Grand Final win against Wellington Phoenix and she was then selected for the A-League All Star squad that faced Chelsea in August.
