Late night switch for Charlton midfielder
The club is thrilled to announce the signing of Mary McAteer who arrives on a season-long loan from Barclays Women’s Super League side Charlton Athletic.
The 22-year-old versatile forward joins David Wright’s side with more than 75 WSL2 appearances under her belt and nine caps for the Wales team.
Mary started her career in Aston Villa’s Academy, making her senior debut against Sheffield United in 2021 before signing a permanent deal with Coventry United ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Her three goals in 15 appearances in the midlands earned her a move to fellow second tier side Sunderland in 2023, where she clocked up 46 appearances and scored eight goals across two seasons.
