Birmingham announce French defender

Birmingham City Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Jade Rastocle from Montpellier for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and WSL approval.

The 22-year-old joins Blues from Montpellier, where she made 42 appearances after joining the French club in 2024.

Rastocle began her career with hometown club Sarcelles, spending 10 years in the academy before joining Stade de Reims at the age of 17. She made her Première Ligue debut in her first season and went on to establish herself as one of France's brightest young defenders across three campaigns before earning a move to Montpellier.

A composed and versatile defender, Rastocle has represented France at every youth international level from Under-16 through to Under-23. Born in Stains and raised in Sarcelles, she is of Guadeloupean and Martinican heritage.

Rastocle said: "I'm very happy to be here. I can see the ambitions of the club, the city and I know it's a historic club."

"For me it's an unbelievable and very big opportunity to play here."

Head Coach Amy Merricks said: “Jade is a young defender with excellent experience for her age. She has shown her quality over several seasons in one of Europe's strongest leagues.

“We believe she'll fit our style of play really well, and we're looking forward to seeing her continue to develop with us."
