For the price, Cathinka Tandberg looks like one of the best-value fantasy picks of the season. But is she really the right fit for your team? Or are there even better options out there? We’re digging deep into the facts and stats to find out.
Tandberg’s Knack for the Net Backs Up Her Fantasy Potential
So, what actually makes a pick good value? It really comes down to two key things. First, what can the player potentially deliver based on their past performances, and how likely are they to repeat those results consistently. Cathinka delivers on both counts with gusto.
Her debut season for Spurs produced six sublime goals from 43 shots across 19 games. That puts her just behind Olivia Holdt and Bethany England (who has now left the squad for pastures new at Crystal Palace), who scored eight and seven goals for Tottenham respectively.
Even with the signings of Shekiera Martinez and Kirsty Hanson, Cathinka’s spot as a key anchor of the Spurs attack looks all but signed, sealed and delivered. Add in the 23 goals she scored in 39 games for Linköping in Sweden’s top flight in 2023/24 and another 12 across 21 games for Stockholm side Hammarby, and you’re looking at a reliable difference-maker with a proven track record at the top level.
A Couple of Red, or Should We Say Yellow, Flags?
Despite all the success, it wasn’t a completely drama-free debut season. Fitness fears arose after Tandberg suffered an unspecified injury back in November which kept her out until the new year. But a brace against Villa shows she’s still got that killer instinct. Yes, there was a slight dip in quality in the latter half of the campaign, but nothing beyond what you’d expect and certainly not enough for any lingering concerns.
The main sticking point is the four yellow cards she picked up last season. Her physical, fearless, box-crashing style gets results, but it can also land Cathinka in contentious situations. Put it this way: in the 2025/26 season, Tandberg was booked in 21% of the games she featured in.

Despite the cards, it’s clear that Cathinka made an incredible start to life at Spurs. Her 43 shots, 15 on target and eight goal involvements paint the picture of a player who was constantly causing problems for the opposition. We’d certainly hope to see fewer yellows this year, but even with them, Tandberg still finished the season with an impressive 77 points.
Bargain Price, Big Potential
To us, Tandberg represents exceptional value. The stats are as reliable as they come, backed up by years of consistent performances across multiple top-level clubs. And with little to suggest anything will disrupt her place in the team, there’s every reason to expect more of the same. In fact, an even better set of results the second time round seems likely.
Cathinka is now fully recovered from her late 2025 injury, properly settled into the squad and has some serious reinforcements around her following the summer transfer window. That includes a club-record signing of French defender Alice Sombath. Which should give Tandberg even more freedom to focus on turning her potential into points. Her combative style does mean that bookings are also an ever-present possibility, but with everything else she’s got going for her, we’re not sure you’ll find a better pick for £6.5 million.
