The winners of the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 awards for March have now been confirmed.

Firstly, Crystal Palace’s Aimee Everett has been named as Player of the Month after emerging victorious in the combined public and panel vote, making it back-to-back successes in this category for the South London outfit following Ashleigh Weerden’s triumph in February.

Starting the month with her first goal in two seasons, her effort against Nottingham Forest proved decisive come full time in a 1-0 win, before she captained the team to a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United and a scintillating 3-2 win over then-league leaders Charlton Athletic.

Newcastle United’s Emily Murphy, Ipswich Town’s Lucy Ashworth-Clifford and Nottingham Forest’s Joy Omewa were also in the running.

Sheffield United’s Amy Andrews meanwhile has earned the Goal of the Month accolade for her effort against Sunderland.

A game that ended up a 2-2 draw with Andrews on the scoresheet once more via a penalty late on to level proceedings, it was her opener against the Black Cats that earned her the monthly gong.

The forward was up against teammate Joy Ralph (v Portsmouth), Newcastle United’s Jordan Nobbs (v Birmingham City), Sunderland’s Katie Kitching (v Nottingham Forest), Durham’s Tyler Toland (v Ipswich Town) and Birmingham City’s Lily Crosthwaite (v Sheffield United).

Finally, the League Managers’ Association have announced that Birmingham City manager Amy Merricks has been voted Barclays WSL2 Manager of the Month for March.

Three wins from their four league outings in March – including victories over Southampton, Sheffield United and Bristol City – saw the Midlands outfit finish the month top of the table and in prime position heading into the final two games of the campaign.
