Magpies welcome highly experienced BWSL2 midfielder

Newcastle United Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Mollie Lambert.

Mollie joins the Magpies having spent the last six years with fellow Barclays Women’s Super League 2 side Durham.

During her time with the Wildcats, the 28-year-old made 157 appearances, scoring 23 times.

Prior to a spell with Sunderland, Mollie spent a year and a half with United, being named club captain for the 2016/17 season.

Mollie said: “It’s a huge club, a huge move, and I’m really looking forward to it. The club’s ambitions and goals, working under Tanya herself, the answers were all there. It is amazing to be part of it and I can’t wait to be involved in the journey ahead.

“This next move was important for me. I want to win things and look back on my career knowing I’ve done myself proud.”

Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, added: “Mollie has spent her career playing in the north east, and having been at this club before, understands what it means to the fans and the city.

“She has shown the quality that she possesses for a number of years in the WSL2, particularly with her in possession abilities, and she will add real value to our squad.”
